On February 5th, prominent Turkish Astrologer Baris IIhan published her predictive alert that the astrological circumstances were right for such an event.
On Feb. 6, a magnitude 7.8 quake struck southern Turkey, U.S. Geological Survey said. Hours later, a 7.5 magnitude quake hit more than 60 miles away. Scores of violent aftershocks followed, leaving destruction and devastation in their path.
The Full Moon at 21:28 tonight triggers the middle degrees of the fixed signs. Fixed signs Leo Scorpio Taurus and Aquarius represent dependable things in our world that have long been in place and are expected to remain so.
This Full Moon forms a T-square where Uranus is focal. (A T square configuration is a planetary aspect pattern that occurs when two planets oppose each other in a chart (180°), and then both planets also square a third planet (90°). This third planet is known as the focal planet or apex). Thought to be the most volatile pattern in astrology, a t Square guarantees disruption. The T Square Ms IIhan pointed out just before the massive quake, shows The Sun and Moon in opposition at the same time Uranus squares each. Uranus is the planet of sudden, unexpected shocking events. [Uranus] in the earth sign Taurus now can also mean shaking the ground.
Further escalation of this pattern is evident through the position of Turkey’s natal Venus in the middle degrees of the 4th fixed sign, Scorpio. When this formation in the sky is combined with Venus in Turkey’s chart, a grand square is formed. Venus rules the sign of Taurus where Uranus is currently transiting. In the national Chart of Turkey, Venus is in the sign of its detriment and in the 2nd house representing the nation’s wealth and security. The planet Venus represents women and children, peace and diplomacy and all the pleasant pastimes in life. IIhan further points out that this grand square was also formed during the Solar Eclipse that took place before the Izmit earthquake in 1999. “My observations for many years have been that the triggering of this Venus indicates such events. As a matter of fact, there was an earthquake in Istanbul on the Full Moon, which frightened those who felt it the day before, especially with its noise.” Says IIln.
On this subject – Prof. Dr. Naci Görür made the following statement:
“You know, apart from the Marmara Sea, there have been earthquakes on land in Istanbul before. There were earthquakes up to 4.0 especially in Tuzla, Pendik, Kartal lines. These earthquakes occur on small faults connected to the North Anatolian Fault Zone. The same was true of the Kağıthane earthquake. Such faults may occur along the NAF even if not mapped. Do not think of the NAF zone as a narrow zone within the Marmara Sea. Look at the Kağıthane earthquake from this perspective and do not attach any special meaning. With love.”
Baris agrees with this comment from an astrological point of view. The Izmit earthquake occurred after a Solar Eclipse. The current square is associated with the Full Moon. Eclipses are stronger states of New Moon and Full Moon and their effects last longer. In this respect, the phrase ‘do not attach special meaning’ is appropriate. The full moon is effective for two weeks. The first week of this is more critical.
However, this may change when the Full Moon activates a previous eclipse. With this in mind, when we look at the eclipses in the past, we see that the Lunar Eclipse on November 8 took place at the same degrees. Since the effect of the Lunar Eclipse lasts for at least six months, this eclipse can be triggered. Venus, the ruler of Uranus in Taurus, may save us from great tensions as it transits through Pisces where it is exalted. However, it is noteworthy that Venus forms a tense square, (90 degree aspect) with Mars. Mars is now both out-of-bounds and conjunct to fixed star Aldebaran. Aldebaran may be associated with natural disasters, accidents, violence. In earthly events, when Mars conjuncts, disasters may occur due to weather conditions. Let’s relate these to the cold, snow and storms that swept the country now.
Undoubtedly, a tension in which Uranus is the focal point is not just about earthquakes. When we think of this as a well-tensed energy discharge, the electricity of Uranus can throw us far from where we are. We can become intolerant of certain situations. We can explode suddenly. The ground under our feet can suddenly shift in every sense. In some cases, there is nothing you can do. In cases where there is something to do, it is useful to take it slow.
In hindsight Astrologer Baris IIln foresaw the disastrous earthquake and wrote about it in her Face Book post one day before it occurred. Is it possible to utilize astrology to foretell the next natural disasters?
